Healing is a deeply personal and transformative journey and I am here to support you every step of the way. In our work together, I will provide a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your inner world and make sense of your experiences. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and resilience, even in the face of trauma, and I am committed to helping you reconnect with your inner strengths as you work through your challenges.
My approach blends person-centered therapy with creative techniques and trauma-informed care. I understand that trauma can leave lasting imprints on your mind, body and spirit, which is why I incorporate modalities like somatosensory work, play therapy, art therapy and other creative interventions to make counseling both effective and enjoyable. I believe that being creative has a unique ability to express what words often can’t and capture emotions and experiences that are too complex or subtle to articulate. Together, we will empower you to process and express these difficult emotions, developing coping strategies that work for you.
We'll also explore how your family dynamics have shaped who you are today, as early experiences often have a profound impact on mental health, identity, and relationships. I’ll guide you in connecting with and healing your inner child to address unresolved emotions, helping you build healthier relationships and create a more authentic sense of self.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to trust, empathy, and nonjudgmental acceptance. I honor and respect the unique cultural background you bring to our sessions and my goal is to create a space where vulnerability is met with understanding and support. Let’s work together to help you heal, grow, and step into the life you deserve.

In order to optimize the development of my professional counseling identity, I am required by the state accreditation board to receive clinical supervision from a licensed professional counselor. Dr. Monica P. Band, LPC (DC & VA), CRC, NCC, ACS, CCC, is serving as my sole and primary onsite supervisor for the duration of my residency.
